IDA can monitor and control the complete dredging process. It controls hydraulics, diesel and electric motors, valves, pumps, gantry’s, winches, swell compensator and whatever else is needed. It also makes available all the information you want about these systems and the connected sensors. It provides information to all participants on board and on shore.
The IDA operation desk consist of touch screen client computers, joysticks, buttons, analogue and digital displays. The operation desk is designed in a user friendly way.
Suction Tube Position Visualisation (STPV)
The STPV is based on a scaled 3D model of the vessel and its dredge pipe(s). It displays the position of the suction tube in real time. Also the water depth is displayed in real time and can be derived from the survey, the draught sensors or the tide gauge. It comes standard with tube angle monitoring and a warning system. Also visualization and control of the swell compensator is included in this screen.
This system computes the actual load and hopper volume by means of a number of sensors. It presents the actual draught, the hopper volume, the Tons Dry Solids and other relevant parameters. The information is logged and can be printed. The time scale is adjustable from one to multiple trips. A trip reporting screen provides insight to the office and authorities about the dredging works. A connection with a survey software package of your choice is made to exchange information about sensors and survey data. The control and visualization of the overflow and turbidity valve are incorporated in this screen.
DLM & TDS
Tank level measurement
With the aid of tank sensors and the tank tables IDA computes all capacities in real time. It can log the use of the tank content and present this in daily automatic generated reports. It increases safety during bunkering. And it is also used for DLM calculations.
All dredge line valves, the dredge pump and relevant sensors and other systems are displayed and controlled in this screen. It has task oriented pages for example the trailing and discharge mode. It has an “open path” monitoring system to avoid operator error.

All jet water valves, pumps and relevant sensors and other systems are displayed and controlled in this screen. It has task oriented pages for the amongst others trailing, discharge and degassing mode. It has an “open path” monitoring system to avoid operator error.
All relevant parameters are displayed on these pages. It is also possible to start and stop auxiliary pumps such as dewatering and valve flushing pumps from this screen.
This screen visualizes and controls all bottom doors. Doors can be selected in pairs of two (portside and starboard) or selected all together. Doors opening and closing are visualized. All relevant parameters are displayed. Relevant water and hydraulic pumps can be started and stopped from these pages.
